Presentation of an illustrated text on the topic of the wider dissemination of the purpose and results of the “CERTIFIED PLANTATIONS” program at the 12th International Congress of Plant Pathology (ICPP)
The international conferences organized by the International Society of Plant Pathology (ISPP) are the most recognized and leading scientific events, where all the modern trends and achievements of the science of plant pathology are presented. The 12th International Congress of Plant Pathology (ICPP 2023, https://www.icpp2023.org) took place in Lyon, France from 20 to 25 August 2023 and gathered the interest of over 2500 plant pathologists from more than 100 countries. Outside the scope of the “CERTIFIED PLANTATIONS” Program, the results related to the development and verification of molecular detection methods (RT-PCR/qPCR) of four olive viruses, seven citrus viruses/viruses, as well as four fig viruses for which the certified propagating material, so as to meet the requirements of the executive directive (EU) 2020/177 of the European Commission regarding organisms harmful to plants in reproductive plant material. In the context of the Conference, the opportunity was given for constructive discussions and exchange of information on the modern technologies for the detection of pathogenic viruses with the most prominent colleagues in the field.
